Canoe Trip ~ San Marcos River
For our first camping trip in the fall we are keeping it close to home. We are heading south to San Marcos and staying at the San Marcos River Retreat where we will be engaging in a 2.5-3.5 hour 5 mile canoe trip down the mighty San Marcos River. Brazil has the Amazon, Egypt has the Nile, Iraq has the Tigris and Euphrates, but San Marcos has the only river in the world that sits 3 miles from the number two attraction in all of Texas, the San Marcos outlet mall. In addition to canoeing, the boys will have the opportunity to fish, complete cooking requirements, leadership opportunities and just a great chance to hang out in the open with their fellow scouts. With COVID, we are asking for as many volunteer drivers as possible, and we may need each parent to shuttle their kiddos down to the campsite and pickup. Realize this is sub-optimal, but the San Marcos Premium Outlets close at 7pm, so this is the ultimate two birds, one stone opportunity.
